Smear of Sparkle

sparkle

How madly

she rules my world

a smear of glittery silver

across my matte gray life

bringing shine and sparkle

to a man

who thought dull and mundane

was how he was meant

to live his life

  1. Standing under a window, he felt that one rain drop that begins
Deluge. Umbrella in hand, he left it sheathed, wanting to look up
Into the eye of the storm setting sight to dampen his reminder
Of life spent dry, inside walls that closed like a vice around him.
Eyes open, each drop fell on his tongue like silver glitter sparkling.
