I exhale you
the vexing complexity
whirling in my mind
hoping
if I blow you
into the air
my body
can be free to breathe
without you
trapping my heart
in smoke-filled dreams

unable
to grasp
and hold

I wish
there was such a thing
as being able
to un-break a heart
but the only option
is putting pieces
back together
leaving lines
as permanent reminders
it once
loved deeply

Victim of Heart
She fell victim
to her heart
once again
beats thumping for love
anywhere and everywhere
beats tormenting her mind
pulling so many directions
never able to stop the beating
turn it off when needed
let go…
her heart
craved too much
needed too much
to ever stop
and she was held
prisoner
