poet’s life
Taste
I taste
every word you write
tip of my tongue
tantalized
with your brilliance
my mouth
longing to kiss
the poetry
called you

(Note: I haven’t been around here lately as I was taking a much needed break from social media. But I think I have my mojo finally back! I have neglected this site the most and hope you still will want to read my words. I am also looking forward to reading all of you friends again. Thanks for sticking with me. Love, Beth)
My Religion
Born to no religion
I create my own
faith in pen
prayers to imagination
I worship
the human body and soul
entities never to be
fully understood
never loved enough
born to no religion
I still believe

Fairy Muse
Hide me
within your poetry
let me sneak between words
and lie between lines
giggle among ink blots
fairy muse
you cannot catch
yet teases and taunts
every waking moment
draws from your pen
thoughts not of this world
caresses from your soul
longing aches and desires
calls from your mind
moonlight emotions
searching for daybreak
in a world bleak with gray
grabs from your heart
beats forgotten and dusty
crying for life
rhythm within melody
yes hide me
within your poetry
so I too
may feel alive

Poet’s Fire
You Taught My Heart
You taught my heart
how to
open closed doors
find niches unoccupied
sneak into spaces small and unassuming
wander unknown paths without fear
discover loves never thought to be
hang onto the past while embracing the future
see infinite space for all the possibilities
of heartbeats yet to come

Freedom on a Page
It was poetry
who taught my heart
she is freedom
on a page
passion
in ink strokes
love
in short lines
dreams, fears,
loneliness, happiness
heartache, heart swells
any emotion
any time
arranged by only me
my way
without rules
most of all
she taught me
I am free be me

My Ink
I profess
no poetic prowess
my ink
simply thoughts
seeped in
emotion
yearnings
lusty desires
it marks my pages
without permission
and calls itself
poetry

Letter to My Poet
This poem was written for a writing prompt on Twitter and based on the title of my dear friend Entirety J. Roberts‘ first published book of poetry “Dear Poet- A Book of Uncommon Prayers.” It is a must read book of her heart and soul which helped lead me to this poem.
Dear Poet,
You captured me
extracted words
from marrow of my bones
sucked ink
from barely pumping veins
poured it all
onto a page
and blessed me
with the honor
of becoming one
with you
